What does one do with obsolete photo shoot and catwalk props? I’m talking about those fabulously crafted gems of amazing décor that set the mood, wow the uber couture clientele and beguile the fashion press.
Usually, said props end up propping up the scrap yard gates or languishing unloved in some dingy lockup. But now, the clever bods behind the communications agency SHOWstudio – namely fashion photographer Nick Night – have had the genius idea to release these one-of-a-kind creations from the halls of fashion history and recycle them as art.
From this month, the newly housed pieces will be on show for perusal and purchase at both The SHOWstudio shop on Bruton Place - a former brothel and studios of Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud – and online.
Created by world-renowned designers, artists and fashion stylists ranging from Simon Costin and Katy England to Simon Foxton and Shona Heath, this colourful array of props certainly don’t come cheap - but they are super chic.
